Bullying is something that happens in many schools. Some students hurt others by calling them names, pushing them, or making them feel bad. This can make the person being bullied feel sad, scared, and even stop coming to school.
In my opinion, something should be done to stop bullying; a bully should not just be ignored. There should be actions taken so they can change, and also so others can be safe. I want to explain what I think should happen to a bully.

Points on What Should Happen to a Bully
In this article, I am going to tell you the reasons why I think something should happen to a bully with the following points.
1. The Bully Should Be Corrected
First, the bully should be corrected; teachers or parents should talk to the bully and explain that what they are doing is wrong. Some students bully others without fully understanding how much pain they cause. So, correcting them is the first step.
For example, a teacher can call the student and explain why calling others bad names is very wrong, and the bully should stop.
2. They Should Be Punished
In my opinion, bullies should be punished; this is not to hurt them, but to make them understand that their actions have consequences. If there is no punishment, they may continue doing the same thing again and again.
For example, the student can be given detention, miss playtime or be sent out of school.
3. They Should Apologise
A bully should say sorry to the person they hurt. This helps them take responsibility for their actions, it also helps the victim feel a little better. Saying sorry is a simple thing, but it is very important.
For example, the bully can go to the student and say sorry for what they did, which can make them feel better and happier.
4. They Should Be Watched Closely
After the bully is corrected, teachers should keep an eye on them to make sure they do not go back to bullying again. Monitoring them helps prevent future problems.
For example, the teacher can watch how the student behaves during break time, and make sure they don’t do it again.
5. They Should Be Taught Good Behaviour
Bullies should be taught how to behave well; they should learn how to respect others and treat people kindly. Sometimes, they need guidance to change their attitude.
For example, they can be taught to use kind words instead of hurtful words, which can prevent future bullying.
6. They Should Be Given School Work or Tasks
Instead of just punishing them, schools can give them tasks, like arranging chairs after school, cleaning the classroom and others. This helps them learn discipline and responsibility.
For example, the student can be asked to help clean the classroom or arrange chairs.
7. They Should Get Support and Guidance
Some bullies act that way because of problems at home or in their personal lives; they may be angry or unhappy. Talking to a counsellor or a teacher can help them deal with their feelings in a better way.
For example, a teacher can sit with the student and talk about what is bothering them at home.
8. They Should Be Given a Chance to Change
Even though bullies do wrong, they should still be given a chance to change. Everyone can become better if they are guided well. If they truly change, they should be accepted again.
For example, if the student starts behaving well, they should be praised and given a chance again.
Should I hit a bully back?
If a bully picks on me, should I fight back? Standing up to bullies doesn’t mean you have to have a physical fight with them. Most of the time, you don’t have to fight. There are almost always more effective ways to deal with bullies, ways that are better for you.
What can happen to a bully?
Kids who bully others can also engage in violent and other risky behaviours into adulthood. Kids who bully are more likely to: Abuse alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in adolescence and adulthood. Experience depression or self-harm.
How do I scare a bully?
If you can, try your best to ignore the bully’s threats. Pretend you don’t hear them and walk away quickly to a place of safety. Bullies want a big reaction to their teasing and meanness. Acting as if you don’t notice and don’t care is like giving no reaction at all, and this just might stop a bully’s behaviour.
How to discipline a bully?
Take bullying seriously, set rules about bullying and stick to them. If you punish your child by taking away privileges, be sure it’s meaningful. For example, if your child bullies other kids via email, text messages, or a social networking site, stop phone or computer privileges for a period of time.
